At Amersfoort International School, celebration is more than just festivity — it's a meaningful expression of our diverse community and a vital part of learning. Over the past months, our vibrant school environment has come alive with a wide range of cultural events, activities, and shared traditions, bringing together students, staff, and families in a spirit of unity and understanding.

From Sinterklaas to Lunar New Year, and from King's Day to Diwali, each celebration has given our students the chance to experience different customs, dress in traditional clothing, enjoy global cuisine, and learn the stories behind the festivals that shape our world. These moments are more than just fun — they’re essential opportunities for our students to develop intercultural awareness, empathy, and curiosity.

Vital in this has been our partnership with a local Dutch primary school. This collaboration enables students to share in local Dutch traditions, engage in joint projects, and build friendships across schools. Through shared activities and language learning, both Dutch and international students benefit from a deeper understanding of one another’s backgrounds.

These celebrations also highlight the international school’s commitment to inclusivity, global citizenship, and community engagement. Parents have expressed how much these events have helped their children feel seen, valued, and connected.
