Amersfoort International School officially an IB World School

Amersfoort International School has been recognised as an IB World School since the end of September. This means the school is now authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP).

The school opened its doors in 2023 as the only international primary school in Amersfoort and had been an IB candidate school since that time. To achieve this authorisation, the school had to meet strict standards in terms of educational vision, quality and organisation. In July 2025, a verification visit took place, and after careful assessment, Amersfoort International School is now officially recognised an IB World School.

With this recognition, Amersfoort joins a global network of more than 5,000 schools offering education based on the IB philosophy: curious learning, critical thinking, and respect for different cultures. At Amersfoort International School, learning is driven by curiosity. Through a modern, inquiry-based approach, students explore real-world questions, share ideas, and learn from one another. Amersfoort International School is part of the AnnoNu school group and shares its building with primary school De Kubus in the Soesterkwartier neighbourhood. For example, they organise mixed-language lunches where students learn each other’s languages and the schools celebrate international holidays together.
